Today, 10 March 2021, the Libyan House of Representatives confirmed the newly-appointed Government of Libyan National Unity (GNU). On this historic day, 132 lawmakers approved the government of Prime Minister Abdulhamid AlDabaiba.
With confidence from the HOR placed in the new government, hope is high in Libya for the impending conclusion of the conflict. The formation of the GNU will pave the way to peace and stability in the nation, especially in light of the upcoming elections set for 24 December 2021, Libya’s 70th Independence Day.
We at the Embassy of the State of Libya congratulate all Libyans and the new government on gaining the confidence of Libya’s elected representatives, and we hope that this will usher in a new era of peace and stability for all Libyans.
