Embassy Issues New Passports for Libyan Citizens

 Sep 02, 2021

Since the beginning of July, the Embassy of the State of Libya in Washington, D.C. has been issuing new passports for Libyans living within the United States. With the assistance of a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Libyans have traveled from all over the country, visiting their representative mission in Washington, DC.

Prior to previous passports, these new biometric passports enable a smoother traveler experience - from visa applications to processing upon destination arrival - authenticating travelers automatically. With this cutting edge technology, electronic and biometric passports from Libya are now connected with international directories, providing global use and future security enhancements.

Appointments for new passports can be found here on the embassy website, and will continue to take place in Washington, D.C.
